The color appearance of a surface is determined by two essential factors: Color and shineTwo surfaces with identical color but different gloss appear visually different. This perception of the human eye is determined by the 45°/0° measuring geometry simulated. In order to capture the pure color tone without optical properties such as gloss or surface structures influencing the result, the sphere measuring geometry (Ulbricht sphere) is used.
