Stone impact
The stone impact test is a standardised test method and is used to assess the behaviour of coatings under stress. This test is required by various vehicle manufacturer standards.
A coated test specimen is bombarded in rapid succession with a standardized hard cast granulate. The impactors are accelerated onto the specimen with compressed air within a selectable period of time with defined energy at a defined impact angle. The impact resistance is then assessed and evaluated.
