Density
The determination of the density is used in many areas to characterize certain properties of a product or material.
The density ρ of a homogeneous solid is defined as the ratio of its mass to its volume. If the mass of a material is referred to the volume of the solid, it is called true density. If the mass is based on the volume of the total amount of material, including pores or cavities, it is identified as bulk density. The density has the measuring unit g/cm3 or kg/m3. In our material laboratories the experimental determination of the density of solids by the buoyancy method (method A) using an analytical balance. The test is carried out at room temperature and with distilled water as immersion liquid
