Glow wire flammability index

GWP mbH offers fire tests according to IEC 60695-2 (glow wire test). The afterburning time at a defined exposure time as well as the dropping of burning material or glowing parts is determined. This test can also be carried out on pure material samples. Here the glow wire flammability index (GWFI), as the highest test temperature at which the flames or glowing processes extinguish within 30 s after removal of the glow wire, is determined without ignition of the specified support by burning drops or glowing parts. This test allows a comparison of the flammability of different materials.

Standards: IEC 60695-2, EN 60695-2, VDE 0471-2
