The gloss of a surface is a visual perception when looking at the surface. In addition to the color measurement, a gloss measurement is also carried out in most cases.  Both parameters in combination allow a good assessment of the optical appearance of the surface.

Gloss measurement is the ratio of the incident light to the light reflected from a surface. Gloss measurement is performed at different measurement angles depending on the type of gloss.

Gloss measurements are possible on foils, textiles, metals, painted surfaces and injection molded parts.
