As part of ParticleCheck, we also carry out tests on technical cleanliness in accordance with VDA 19, particularly for functionally relevant automotive parts.
For clean production, certain requirements for residual dirt must be met depending on the specification in order to protect the cleanliness-sensitive systems from abrasive particles, among other things. To ensure that these requirements are met, the cleanliness area of the parts must be checked regularly. VDA 19 in conjunction with the relevant delivery specifications provides procedures and guidelines according to which the particles are extracted, analyzed and documented in a suitable form depending on the respective component. Important parameters are: number, size, classification into fibers and particles, non-metallic and metallic particles and other abrasive components such as corundum. Statistics are determined using light microscopy and automatic measuring software. Conspicuous and critical particles can also be identified using REM-EDX and a material assignment made.
Standards: VDA 19
