The roller peel test according to DIN EN 1464 is a test to determine the peel resistance of adhesive bonds. Two test specimens to be joined are bonded together, whereby one of the bonding partners must be flexible. This is pulled off at a defined angle via a pulley using a tensile testing machine. The force required for this pulling off, in conjunction with the width of the sample, gives the peel resistance. This test also produces a fracture pattern with which the type of failure of the bond (cohesive failure, adhesive failure, etc.) can be determined according to DIN EN ISO 10365.
