GWP offers highly developed image analysis methods for the quantitative microstructure evaluation of technical materials. The image analysis evaluation of microscopic images is an essential tool for the precise determination of the phase proportions in various materials.

During the analysis, the phase components – for example Ferrite content in duplex steels, carbon fibers in CFRP components, Porosities in Cast Materials or Precipitations in aluminum materials – through a color value detection the pixels and additional geometric functions This method allows the exact calculation of the area share of the respective phases in the materials examined.
