The method for measuring the local layer thickness of metal, oxide and enamel layers by measuring metallographically prepared cross-sectional areas with a light microscope. The sample preparation and the layer thickness measurement are carried out by trained specialists. The measurement can be carried out directly on the microscope using a measuring eyepiece or via digital photography and subsequent measurement with a measuring tool of digital image processing. The test report is prepared in accordance with the specifications of DIN EN ISO 1463 or DIN EN ISO 2808: 2019-12; 5.4.
