surface inspections

colorimetry

Color measurement describes the color and gloss effect of a sample using objective numbers. It is independent of the observer's subjective color impression.

The color measurements are carried out using a spectrophotometer. This measures the remission values of visible light from infrared to ultraviolet. This allows color deviations to be calculated and deviations to be defined. The color measurements are carried out under defined UV lighting and measuring geometry.

Color measurements are possible on films, textiles, metals, painted surfaces and injection molded parts

gloss measurement

The gloss of a surface is a visual perception when looking at the surface. In addition to the color measurement, a gloss measurement is also carried out in most cases. Both parameters in combination allow a good assessment of the optical appearance of the surface.

Gloss measurement is the ratio of incident light to the light reflected from a surface. Gloss measurement is carried out at different measuring angles depending on the type of gloss.

Gloss measurements are possible on films, textiles, metals, painted surfaces and injection molded parts

Mechanical surface testing

Environmental stress on the surface can also be of a mechanical nature. We simulate and test abrasion resistance, scrub resistance and scratch resistance according to all common standards: Common test methods are abrasion test, scrub test, scratch test, hot scratch test, pencil hardness test, cross-cut test, stone chip test, writing resistance test or the fingernail test.

Our services: Surface testing according to international standards
