GWP decision rule

for declaration of conformity of testing results

The following decision rule will be applied if there is no standardised test specific or customer´s decision rule specified.

Case A) Measured value including measurement uncertainty is out of the specification.
Declaration of conformity: The sample does not comply with the specification in the tested range. Expanded measurement uncertainty* is considered, hence an incorrect declaration is very unlikely.

Case B) Measured value is out of the specification, measurement uncertainty is partly within the specification.
Declaration of conformity: The sample does not comply with the specification in the tested range. The measured value could be within the specification considering the expanded measurement uncertainty*, but an incorrect declaration is very likely.

Case C)  Measured value is within the specification, measurement uncertainty is partly out of the specification.
Declaration of conformity: The sample conditionally comply with the specification in the tested range. The measured value could be out of the stecification considering the expanded measurement uncertainty*. Hence, an incorrect declaration is likely.

Case D) Measured value including measurement uncertainty is within the specification.
Declaration of conformity: The sample conforms to the specification in the tested range. Expanded measurement uncertainty* is considered, hence an incorrect declaration is very unlikely.

* k=2, confidence interval 95 %

If requested, different decision rules may be applied. This needs to be communicated in advance. Customer specific decision rules or other deviations from standardised test specific or GWP decision rules may result in additional costs.
